A used to VR指過去的習慣(以前常做)

1. Dad used to get up early last year. (爸爸去年時常早起。)(過去時常)

2. There used to be a nice restaurant near here.(這兒附近曾有一家很好的餐廳。)

3.I used to go jogging in the park in the morning. （我以前早上會在公園裡慢跑）

表示過去的習慣，現在已經做的事。因此使用過去式的動詞used 後接 to VR，過去發生的事

be/get used to+V-ing (表示目前的習慣)

Dad is used to getting up early this year. (爸爸今年習慣早起。)

I am used to living here. (我現在習慣住在這裡。)

I get used to the hot weather.(我逐漸習慣這種炎熱的天氣)

be used to +原形動詞 (被用來)

A clock is used to tell time. (時鐘是被用來報時的。)

The medicine is used to treat cancer.     藥是被使用來治療癌症的。

be used for +0. 當作….使用

The machine is used for washing dishes. (這種機器是用來洗碗的)

物 be used by 人 (某物被某人使用)

The cellphone is used by Cindy. (手機被Cindy所使用。)
